August 2008

I greet you in the name of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ and bid
you grace and peace! We are excited to be with you! You have a wonderful
reputation for being loving and friendly Christian people, for effectively
combining the personal and social gospel, and for creatively offering
contemporary and traditional worship so that many people can connect with God.
We thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for making it possible for us in
the Outhwaite family to worship, fellowship, and work among you. We count it a
privilege.
Thank you for the warm reception on July 6th during the worship services and
the social time in-between. Many of you worked hard to make that a reality, and
we are appreciative.
Again thank you to those who did so much advance work to prepare for our
coming and who met us at the parsonage as we moved in – Staff Parish Relations
Committee led by Tim Cook, Board of Trustees led by George Dunham, and Parsonage
Committee led by Dick McCoy. Many unsung volunteers joined them and worked hard.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you to every prayer warrior who has been on bended knee about this
transition. “Nothing is wrought without prayer” (J. Wesley). I believe that God
is answering our prayers that we begin well here at Mulberry Street U.M.C.
May God bless us as we strive better to know one another, to love one
another, to serve one another, and to encourage one another in our Christian
life.
I am yours for the heath, growth, and harvest of God’s kingdom,
Pastor Warren
